Well…thought I’d introduce myself. I, the Book Badger am the latest edition to the CompletelyNovel team. I’ve just moved into their HQ in Dalston and I am ‘loving it’, as they say.
You may think it’s a bit unusual to put a Badger in charge of editorial content for a site like CompletelyNovel. ‘Surely an owl or a squirrel would be more suitable!’, I hear you cry. Well, my friends…neither squirrels nor owls can open doors, let alone use computers – I’m afraid they would have been useless.
So, you’ve got me to entertain you, and I will be drawing on my vast knowledge of literature, the latest book-related news and my excellent team of editors to offer some tasty morsels to enhance your reading and writing experience here on CompletelyNovel.
I was delighted to have been headhunted by the CN team. A refreshing change from being simply hunted, as tends to happen to animals who live in holes.
Finally, I’d just like to set the record straight. I know that badgers have had a bit of a bad press in recent years, but I’m particularly keen that the irresponsible behaviour of some should not spoil the reputation for the rest of us. I have never physically attacked anyone and no matter what the rumours are, there is no evidence that badgers are to blame for the increase of knife crime in London (my sources at a certain tabloid tell me that this is the current thinking). No, the majority of us badgers are literature-loving, peaceful, well-dressed and particularly good writers.
I very much look forward to being an ambassador for my species on this wonderful website.
Well, glad to here that badger rampages are only perpetrated by the minority! I look forward to seeing what our furry friend has to offer.
Interesting choice for an editor…but I like the idea and the new look to the website!
I have happened on this several years too late as you have now been around a while – as far as I can tell from various dates on the posts?
Curious use of words? A pun?
“I, the Book Badger, am the latest edition to CN…” not “addition”?
As I love badgers and have been on/lead many badger watches in wildlife reserves – delighted to know you are at the helm!
