One of Roald Dahl's best books by far. It's one that you can read again and again - by turns thrilling, disgusting and heartwarming, Roald Dahl confirms his place as a master storyteller.

Gripping reads, but not for children

I remember reading these short stories ages ago, they are still clearly fixed in my mind as some of the best I have ever read. So different from his children's books though some were truly terrifying.

Hit and miss, but ultimately great fun

I didn't know what to expect from Dahl as an adult writer and was impressed and disapointed from story to story I though some were slick and well written, while others were predictable and stiltted. Still a great collection to dip in and out of, but something of a lucky dip.
