The seventy year old land lord Sam Roy found no other way but to be kind enough to bring up her as his own grand-daughter named Uma with modern best education available in the city and thereafter she became a police officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre. In 1964, a Muslim young woman with the help of another Christian woman and a Hindu man established an organisation called All India Depressed and Deprived Women Organisation (AIDDWO) which gradually became a pioneer to awaken the people against the torturing and oppressing Islamic rules and fatwa on the women through a non-violent movement over the terrorist stricken countries. The tortures and oppressions like raping minor to older women, incest, forced divorce & separation, polygamy, killing innocent people, honour killing etc. became the daily practices by the terrorists groups. A few of such victimised women were Bilkis, Hasina, Maria, Nasima, Jyotsna, Sabina Khatun, Parveen Bibi and Sultana Banu whose personal experiences enriched the book more realistic. Uma, a born Muslim, brought up in Hindu culture, an efficient member of Indian Police Service (IPS), got highest award of the police service from government of India for moulding the terrorists surrendered to the government for rehabilitation in mainstream social life and democratic politics. Thus Uma became a legendary woman to every body. Despite this honour and fame, she was indeed not happy mentally. Uma’s eyes were in search of her parents since she joined police service in Kashmir. She was much optimistic to find out her parents from the arrested and jailed terrorists. The non-violent movement got the full support from the true Islamic people and military wings of all the concerned countries to eradicate the terrorism from the world. The joint action of defence and non-violent movement made the terrorists defeated, surrendered and repented for their anti-Islamic activities. Peace and humanity returned again to the earth.
