I have done an edit of my book, got a professional cover design and changed the author’s name (to my own). Would this be classified as a ‘new’ book and require a ‘new’ isbn or simply what it is, a re-write. Also how to I ensure that the ‘old’ edition is completely erased from the site so that there is no confusion.

Not sure, Colette, but as you have changed the author name, I would think you would have to get a new ISBN. Is it available on Amazon and other outlets? If it’s only on this site then I think admin would be able to answer this and sort it out for you.

      Hi Colette,
You will need to use a new ISBN as the key details of the book have changed (the author). Therefore you will then need to delete the old book from your portfolio and set up a new one. The old one will then be marked as out of print and taken off the Lightning Source distribution catalogue. It sometimes takes a while for books to disappear from all retailer listings (i.e. on Amazon) and unfortunately we can’t control when this happens once we have updated the ISBN database.

      Best wishes,
      Georgina

Thank you both. Assumed that might be the case!
