I have used writers critique sites in the past to get certain types of feedback, I take such things with a pinch of salt and use what I feel either compliments my work or I just totally ignore it. We can all learn things from others that write but they need to be people that write well as there is a big difference tot he quality of advice you can receive. The bottom line though has to be the response of people that read your work as pure readers (whether they write as well). I have come across many groups where there are obvious cliques existing and where other writers have seemed to take great pleasure dishing out advice or abuse in some cases to others when they haven't even yet been published themselves (not that I personally received such feedback of course). It was fairly obvious for all to see in forums! That said I will make a note of the sites you mention for future possible critique of new work, all useful tools and free I expect too. In terms of my first book, its all ready published with a small UK publisher (excerpts available to read here and in other places!). My second, OTOLI, here on the site to read has taken quite a bit more research due to its novella size and Young Adult genre but its currently on submission in the UK so I just need to wait to hear back in a month or so (some have declined it due to it being a novella already), fingers crossed etc. I'm writing more to the Young Adult genre now as it is somewhere I'm very comfortable. I think my years as a teacher and mother have helped to some degree as well as my own past and childhood. The writing and ideas just seem to flow, they do say write about what you know! I'm well in to the third book already. Nice chatting again. Bryony (more) and received+3

I'm 17 at the moment but I turn 18 at the end of September. Our summer holidays in Australia are from December to February, as we are just leaving winter and entering spring in September. Have you tried to online community webook.com? I am a member and it is a place where you can post your projects and get people in the community to review them. I have placed many projects up and when I review someone's work i usually get a review in return. There is also page to fame where writers pay to enter their work in a sort of competition with lots of levels and it gets rated through the levels. Also librarything.com is a place where you can keep track of your books like completelynovel as well, so i go between the two. Have a nice week! Steph (more) and earned+3

They are quite different to each other as one is an already published book for Adults which is a mystery/humour centred around a school inspection (first 6 chapters available to read free). The other, OTOLI, is my main priority at the moment as it is for Young Adults, a genre area I truly love writing in. I'm currently researching for a third book which is also for a Young Adult readership. I am hoping CN can help me push OTOLI to the wider world, who knows! Interesting that you mention Summer holidays since we are already in ours in the UK, when do your holidays begin in Australia, also is year 12 the same as the UK (16 years old)? Best regards Bryony (more) and received+3
