If the public know about the activities of a 'secret society' as frequently they claim, then it ceases to be a secret society; yet it is the same public that utilise the term...!!! Back to questioning... How large is the work? What angles area you approaching from? Connections to other organisations? Real or imagined? Similarities to Freemasonry? There is little sound evidence for the existence of the order in the form that is widely suspected today. This is subject, secret societies, that brings out the wildest imaginative scenarios in many people. Some groups model themselves on what they perceive to be the structure and formation of the lines of the original Illuminati organisation...but this is nothing but guesswork. Effectively most such organisation are little more than 'boys clubs' where men partake in frequently meaningless ritual or at least ritual that is based entirely upon allegory and they fail to comprehend its meaning. The Freemasons has generally degenerated in such a fashion unfortunately although few Brothers would admit to it...however some will as discussions I have had with a few, on line and here in Newport reveal. [I have a few friends, one being especially close, we worked together for years and he nearly died on me couple of times...who have been brothers] for many years. K. Eakman The book is on this site and I have reviewed it. It is worth a read, you will recognise much, the book is about the state of education in the US. Given the info in this book you will appreciate all the more what I have been saying regarding thinking for oneself and not accepting what one sees, reads or hears via the media. Further, you will recognise what the author is writing about and understand why she does write about the subject. You will have a better grasp than I as you have experienced what is happening. In my review I state that to understand what is occurring, or at least why it works, a good plan is to read The Meme Machine first.[I have mentioned this book before]. This book reveals just why we allow ourselves to be taken in by ideas, concepts etc without thinking. Refer to my comments about media, adverts etc then have a look at my review of the book then read the book. You will be surprised at what is happening around you. This has not occurred here yet, at least only in a small way but give it time... Its all about observation and thinking...and avoiding being manipulated. Cheers H (more)
